In this article I am taking you shopping for cheap Sears portraits! The main reason for this article is to illustrate the benefits of coupons. Mommies that I have spoken to say that they are all sick & tired of spending a lot of hard earned money on portrait photographs for their precious children at the high-priced studios. But they still do want to capture each and every moment of their kids’ life because they change so fast!
So, a couple of years ago I went searching for an inexpensive studio to take family photos. First I called around to several privately owned portrait studios and was truly amazed. They all (and when I say all I mean ALL) had specials, deals and packages that were exceeding the price that I have paid for my engagement photos. It is exactly why I decided to give Sears Photo Studio a chance. And believe me, I never regretted that decision! For an online printable coupon code for only $7.99 (the deal changes based on the month) you get a 1-8x10, plus you get 1-5x7, 4-3.5x5s, 4 wallets and 16 minis. And what I like the most is that there is no session fee. The only catch is you only get to choose one pose, which is not a big downside. You can print coupons off their official website. Just make sure you read the fine print. As I just said, some of the deals are only good on one pose.
For those of you with military ID, Sears offers the 20% off your studio and online portrait purchase. You just need to show the military ID at the time of your session for this special military family discount. The catch is that you have to pay extra $14.99 for a sitting fee. But there is no session fee for Super Savers members.
Over at JCPenney the portrait studio offers the similar deal. They have a coupon for the same $7.99 and $3.99 package. On the other hand, at JCPenney only ONE sitting fee is included. Any extra people will have to pay for the sitting fee.
For mommies who plan to take photos each month or more than a few times a year they have enrolled the Super Saver Membership. You pay one time fee and it’s good for one year. There’s no session fee and you can basically come as many times as you want.
The Super Saver Membership waives all sitting fees and includes everyday savings (free 1-8x10) and weekend savings (buy one get one free). There are also other one-time benefits like members only exclusive sales and special events.
Finally, the question I’ve been hearing a lot lately: “How many times are you going to go take photos using those coupons?” You can go as many times as you like. Some of my mom friends take advantage of taking special portrait deals once a week and for only $7.99 they say it’s a big bargain. Since discovering this cheap alternative I am saving at least $100 each year. And most importantly, the quality of the photos is just as fine.
